MIXED USE
Located in Melbourne’s east, an area characterised by established neighbourhoods and increasing mixed-use development, this project brings together healthcare, commercial and community programs within a clear, vertically integrated form.
The 7-level building is structured through a deliberate stacking of uses. A multipurpose ground floor establishes a flexible and publicly accessible base. Above, a dedicated commercial level supports workplace activity, followed by 2 hospital levels designed for clarity in planning and efficient operation. A childcare level introduces a community-focused layer, while the upper 2 levels accommodate hotel uses, offering short-stay living within close proximity to essential services. A basement level consolidates car parking and back-of-house functions.
The design is guided by clarity and legibility. Each program is expressed through a consistent structural rhythm, supported by concept and colour-coded diagrams that define circulation, access and separation between uses.
Materiality is robust and refined, reinforcing a calm civic presence.
The project delivers a balanced, multi-use building that supports healthcare while contributing to the evolving urban fabric of Melbourne’s east.
