Located in Melbourne’s inner east, a well-connected and evolving urban precinct, this rooftop commercial project delivers a refined hospitality setting with strong visual connection to the city. Elevated above the street, the space offers a sense of retreat while remaining grounded in its urban context.
The design is structured around clarity of movement and flexible social zones. Open areas for gathering are balanced with more intimate pockets, allowing the space to adapt to different scales of use while maintaining a consistent spatial rhythm.
Materiality is both deliberate and restrained. Concrete-look walls in a terracotta tone provide a warm, textured backdrop, softened by integrated planting throughout. Stainless steel elements introduce a precise, contemporary contrast, supporting both durability and visual clarity. A continuous terrazzo floor unifies the space, while terracotta-toned metal planter boxes define edges, guide circulation, and reinforce the overall material language.
Together, these elements create a rooftop environment that feels calm, grounded, and inviting. The project prioritises comfort and connection, offering a contemporary setting for social interaction framed by Melbourne’s skyline.
