Emma Street

MIXED USE
A bold, concentrated shot of Collingwood has been designed to signal entry into the thriving inner city neighbourhood from the east. Clearly influenced by Collingwood’s built heritage, the brick podium fills out the entirety of the square site with its solidity eroded by large warehouse windows, recessive balconies and delicate brick detailing. The rhythms of the podium are then repeated above in white, a ghosted copy floating over. The small footprint island site required some dextrous planning to fit the 37 apartments as well as the necessary car parking, and results in an array of luxurious residences abounding in light, space and views. An activated frontage and a luxuriously appointed foyer invite you in off the street, while the rear laneway is faced by a moody green textured concrete arcade. Brass highlights gild the façade with a contrasting colour and shine that hint at the quality of the homes inside.
