MULTI RESIDENTIAL SDA
This innovative Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) project represents a significant investment in inclusive living, purpose-built to support those with high physical support needs under the NDIS. Located within an evolving precinct in Footscray, this 3-storey development delivers 15 thoughtfully designed apartments alongside dedicated On-site Overnight Assistance (OOA) facilities.
A key objective of the design is to combine modern architectural form with functional inclusivity. The building features a sophisticated black vertical cladding system, offset by expansive glazing and integrated greenery. The contrasting textures and bold linear rhythms create a striking visual identity while maintaining a sense of warmth and approachability.
Each residence has been designed to High Physical Support (HPS) standards, ensuring ease of accessibility, enhanced safety, and future adaptability.
Ground-level landscaping and urban greening soften the street interface, with considered planting spilling over balconies and facades to connect occupants to nature. Accessible entryways ensure seamless navigation throughout the site without compromising on design integrity.
This Melbourne-based development positions people living with disability at the core of a contemporary urban fabric.
