RESIDENTIAL
ARCHITECTURE

Emerging seamlessly from the undulating terrain of New South Wales’ North Coast, this expansive multi-generational home is a considered response to both site and brief. Designed to foster connection while allowing for privacy and retreat, the residence is deeply embedded in its idyllic coastal setting—offering an immersive living experience defined by openness, light, and panoramic views.

At the centre of the home, a dramatic triple-height void establishes a spatial hierarchy and serves as a unifying volume around which the program is organised. Anchored within this void is a sculptural, serpentine staircase that spirals gracefully through the home’s three levels. More than just a circulation element, it acts as a central gesture—fluid and continuous—connecting family members across generations and spaces.

Generous zones for living, sleeping, entertaining, and wellness are arranged to balance communal interaction with moments of solitude. Each space has been crafted with adaptability in mind, allowing the home to evolve alongside the needs of its inhabitants. Material selections are warm and enduring, reflecting the tones and textures of the surrounding landscape, while large expanses of glazing dissolve the boundary between inside and out.

Throughout, the architecture works in service of the extraordinary location. Expansive ocean views are framed at every opportunity, drawing occupants outward toward the horizon. The home is sited to maximise natural light and passive ventilation, while landscaped terraces and outdoor living areas extend the usable footprint of the house beyond its walls.

This project represents a holistic approach to multi-generational living—blending contemporary coastal architecture with a strong connection to place. It is a home that supports family life across time, designed to be both lived in and loved for generations to come.
